Dick Kent, President & Owner

Dick is a Madisonville native, born in 1946, the 2 nd of 6 children of Bill & Marie Kent. In 1964, Dick graduated from Purcell High School and went to work for P&G. Barb and Dick were married shortly thereafter and began their family, ending with 5 children. While at P&G, Dick attended UC Evening College.

In February 1970, the Aetna Life Insurance Company hired Dick as a career life agent. In 1972, Dick was promoted to a management position specializing in employee benefit programs. During those 6 years at Aetna, Dick secured his Charter Life Underwriter designation (CLU).

In early 1976, Dick terminated with Aetna and began his career starting his own “scratch” property & casualty agency with an office in Deer Park. His Mom and Dad were his 1 st customers!

Dick & Barb now live in North Sycamore Township. Four of their five children are married and all live in the Cincinnati area. Enjoying “condo” life and 14 grandchildren plus 4 step grandkids keeps Dick & Barb very busy.

Kim Melson, VP of Personal Lines

Kim is Dick’s oldest daughter and the 2 nd of his 5 children. She graduated from Mount Notre Dame H.S. in 1984 and then pursued an education major at UC. She worked at the Kenwood McDonalds for several years as a manager from 1984-1989. Kim joined the Kent Insurance staff in 1990 and for the most part has worked full time.

In 1996, Kim married Keith Melson. With his 2 sons Ryan & Reid, she had an instant family. The two grew their family of 4 to a family of 7 when they welcomed Connor in 1998, Griffin in 2000 and Hope in 2001! Kim enjoys cooking yummy dinners for her family, beating them all in go-fish, crazy 8’s and Kings Corners, fishing, and bike rides around Landen Lake.

In 2008, Kim was promoted to Vice-President of Personal Lines at Kent Insurance. She is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and is continually looking out for the best coverage to suit your insurance needs.

Chris Kent, VP of Commercial Lines

Chris is Dick’s youngest son and 4 th of his 5 children. He graduated from Moeller High School in 1993 playing football all 4 years. He then attended Thomas More College in Northern Kentucky and graduated with a BA in Business Administration in 1997. He also continued his football career at TMC where he accumulated a few school records as a tight end. Chris now enjoys officiating high school and college football for the Northern Kentucky Football Association and the Mid South Conference.

Chris began his insurance career in 2000 at Ohio Casualty Insurance Company working as a commercial lines underwriter. In 2003, he was promoted to the marketing department servicing OCG’s agency force in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. His new career with his Dad & Sister started in August of 2005.

In 1999 Chris married Jenny Stenger of Brookville, Indiana. Their family quickly expanded with Alex, Drew, Kira, Mia, Marisa & Seth. Chris, Jenny and the kids live in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Chris earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2007 and the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 2010. Chris is the VP of commercial lines and is primarily responsible for all new accounts throughout the agency.

Brandy Reynolds, Customer Service Representative

Brandy is the middle child of 5 children born to Terry & Peggy Reynolds of Silverton. She graduated from Mt Notre Dame High School in 1998. She worked for Graeter’s Ice Cream for roughly 6 ½ years before moving to Key West, Florida in 2003.

While in Key West, Brandy worked as an assistant manager at a water sports company. She returned to Cincinnati a year later and began her insurance career with State Farm. During this time she received her P & C License. In May of 2007, Brandy joined the Kent Agency team and is primarily responsible for everyday customer service. She is also the claims manager for the agency.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing dice baseball, drinking a cold Bud Light, and spending time with her family.

Mardi Nolan, Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative

Mardi Nolan is a Cincinnati native and has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry with most of her time with Ohio Casualty. Mardi assists Dick & Chris in handling all service requests for commercial coverage’s.
